Thanksgiving

I have no pictures to post from Thanksgiving, but thought I'd "journal" about it anyways. We went to California for Thanksgiving for the first time in what I'm guessing is 10 years. I was in charge of the rolls, so I baked 4 dozen the day we left.
We had a yummy Thanksgiving at my mom's house. It was a small group, which was nice. I got to meet my cousin's fiance, and catch up with relatives. My grandma "Grandee" always buys chocolate turkeys from See's Candy every year for the tables for everyone to share. Well... Zack found a turkey, and had bitten it's head off and was starting on the rest of him before we caught him. LOL The kid is a total chocoholic!
Then it was off to have some Black Friday shopping. My mom decided to stay home this year, so my Grandee and I braved the sales. Toys R Us opened at Midnight, so we got in line there around 9:30pm. It was so cold! The sprinklers came on and got me half wet, so that didn't help matters, but it was fun. I just wish I had brough earplugs. The group behind us had the foulest mouths I think I have EVER heard. On top of that they were smoking, and belching, and spitting. I couldn't wait to get away from them when we got into the store.
Once we survived Toys R Us, we went home to get some lawn chairs and a down comforter. We headed over to Target, where there was already a line! We got into line about 1am and the store didn't open until 5am! I was literally so cold that I almost decided to just pack up and go home. I was shivering uncontrollably. I ended up going to the car twice to sit in the heat for a few minutes before I headed out again.
After Target we hit Old Navy to get some jeans for Zack. The kid won't quit growing! LOL
That was it for the day. We got back home around 7am-ish. We hadn't slept all night, except the 20 minutes I think I dozed off in the Target line when I wrapped the blanket all the way above my head and was still freezing! Grandee and I went straight to bed, and Ben took the boys out to the beach and to lunch so we would have a quiet house.
The next day Grandee and I hit the mall to see what good deals they had going on there. We found a cute mouse nutcracker. My Grandee collects mice.
Overall, we had a great time! It was nice to spend some time with family.
Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

I think you are CRAZY to go shopping in the middle of the night. Poor Grandee was probably miserable but didn't want to tell you! You bad grandeeter! Haha!
