Today was my final ultrasound to measure the baby. I still will do the fetal monitoring twice a week, but I won't get pictures or measurements after this. We are getting down to the wire!!!
The ultrasound technician and the Perinatologist both said that everything looked beautiful and perfect with the baby's growth and movement, etc. Baby T has been a little stinker about his "practice breathing" when they are scanning him. They like to make sure he's doing it, and he likes to stop doing it as soon as they try to zoom in on his abdomen. Ben and I were joking that he holds his breath whenever he knows we are looking. Case in point would be that they were waiting to see more breaths, and he wouldn't do it. They took the wand off my belly for a few minutes and when we put it back on he was doing practice breaths for just a second and then he stopped. Turkey!
According to their measurements, they estimate that he weighs 5lbs 8oz right now. Brenden was 6lbs 7oz when he was born, and went down to 5lbs 8oz, so this guy is just a little bitty right now! According to what I've read online, the babies can gain about an ounce a day from here on out. If I go to my due date, he'd be about 7lbs 6oz, but both my OB and Perinatologist think I will go a little early. Next week my OB starts the weekly cervical checks. Yippee Skippy... LOL
The Braxton Hicks are coming pretty regularly, baby T is still head-down, and I'm sure he's dropped. I think I'm starting to lose pieces of my mucus plug as well. Lovely, eh? I'm just journaling this moment just in case I don't get a chance before he makes his arrival. My OB says at this point they won't stop it if I went into labor. With my luck, he'll make me wait plenty of time. Ha ha...
Anyhow, here are the last pics I will get of my little T-man before he is out in this big world!
This one I call his "squishy face" picture. His head is tilted to the right, and you can see his forehead, nose, and his lips all squished up.
Profile shot...
His foot... she said his feet were crossed again today. It should be interesting to see if he keeps that habit up once he has room to move about outside the womb.
This one is his face tilted to the right again. Still has those chubby cheeks! Awww... I can't wait to meet him! (But I can wait for the lack of sleep... )
So there he is! Now it's a countdown. Oh yeah, bummer news... I tested positive for the B strep test so I have to have the antibiotics when I get to the hospital. Boo! Luckily my OB said it only takes 5 to 10 minutes to put it in and then they will unplug me, so I am still fine for the water birth! Yay!

You have such great shots of T. So cute. It will be interesting to see if he crosses his feet. Can't wait to meet him either.
How exciting! Hopefully he'll be a great sleeper once he arrives. My last month of pregnancy I didn't get any sleep but Naiya was a great sleeper once she was here so I'll wish super hard for ya that he'll do the same! Congrats!
