Horse-ing around!

My friend Karen had invited Zack and I over to see her horses quite a while back. Well, you know how life just gets crazy and you don't remember...
Anyhow! With Zack being on track break, I asked Karen if it would be alright if we came by, and she suggested we come today, since it is a holiday, and her boys would be off of school and could help saddle the horses, and help my boys ride. :o)
We brought some carrots with us to feed the horses. Of course I forgot to bring my camera! Luckily Karen took several photos so I could blog them. Thanks Karen!
I have to say that I really expected Zack to be scared of feeding the horses, let alone getting onto the TALLEST horse (16 hands high) and riding it! Zack was waiting patiently for the horse to run around a bit before she was ready to take a small rider.
Zack loved it! He didn't want to get off the horse! He kept saying it was his turn.
Here is Karen's son Bryan taking great care to hang on to my little guy!
Then it was Brenden's turn.
Karen told Brenden he could hang on to Bryan if he needed to. Of course he was too cool to have to do that...
Brenden got to try the reins (pun completely intended) for a little while.
Even I got in on the action. Yes, even though I have a huge fear of heights. Karen hung on to the horse while it walked. I am glad. I was a little worried she was going to let me handle it solo, and I wouldn't have had a clue what to do! The funniest part was me getting up in the saddle. I am only 5'3", and the stirrup was several inches above my waistline. After a few failed acrobatic tricks on my part, Bryan brought a cinderblock for me to stand on.
Does this horse make my butt look big? LOL
Cowgirl Karen and I. Zack was wanting another round, so Brenden put him in front and off they went.

Thanks for the fun day Karen! We had a blast!!! :o)

That does look like fun. I personally am a bit scared of horses, so I am proud of you for trying it.
