Zack's Tooth

My friend Rachael found a really cute website with tooth pillows on it and sent me a link. I thought they were adorable, and one of the patterns came free, so I downloaded it and got to the business of making Zack a tooth pillow. (Okay, I'm really nice and I made one for Eli (Rachael's son) too) LOL
I changed how the horns/hair was in the pattern, and I hand-stitched around the pieces instead of machine sewing around them since that was annoying, and I don't have a free-moving foot on my sewing machine. Maybe next machine! Anyhow, here is the result!
So the night before I was going to leave to CA for a few days, I noticed Z's tooth was REALLY loose, and I didn't want him to lose his first tooth while I was gone, so I went to work on it. I'm not sure he was very enthusiastic about it even before I started trying to pull that darn thing out, but he definitely wasn't thrilled once the process got rolling. Here is the before. (Oh and kindly ignore the chocolate around his mouth...)

I couldn't even post the pictures of his whole face after I pulled his tooth. They were too much! Ha ha... he looked traumatized. I promised I would not try to pull another tooth out unless he specifically asked me to. The problem was that front of the root was really deep, so it wasn't as easy to pull out as I thought it would be.
 Here is the after photo.
Zack put his tooth in his newly-fashioned tooth pillow and went to bed. He was just sure he was going to wake up and see the tooth fairy on accident. Luckily she was very sneaky and was able to get in and out without any problems. (Okay, maybe her husband stayed up and took care of the tooth situation because she was one exhausted fairy and already in bed) Nevertheless, the tooth fairy came that night, and the next morning Zack was ecstatic that there was money where his tooth had been. Now if only I had thought to get a picture of that! Oh well...

Aspen still talks about when you "helped" his tooth along at the family reunion years ago. Ha!

Good work Zack and Mom!!
