T's First Birthday

Here are photos from Trever's actual first birthday. His party was the weekend before his birthday.
First is a picture of the nurse that was with me during my entire labor and delivery. She was AWESOME! She was encouraging, optimistic, excited for me, and helpful in every way. I don't think I could have done it all without her. Last year when I was in labor she was telling me that if T was born that day then he would have the same birthday as her sister. She was excited he was born before she was off her shift. I told her I would bring him back in a year to see her. So... fast-forward to a few months before T's first birthday. I knew I wanted to take him back to see her, but I couldn't remember her name for the life of me! I tried calling the L&D nurses at the hospital, and they had switched over to a new computer system (of course) and the earliest month they could go back to was September. Not helpful for me, since T was born in August! Anyhow, I told them my predicament, got passed around to several different extensions at the hospital, but was finally told I would have to come in in person to request a release form to find out the name of the nurse who helped me. Plus this could take a while for them to have to find. I never got over to the hospital, so on the morning of T's birthday I got him up after his morning nap and I just said a little prayer that the nurse would be there so we could see her and she could see us, and that we could figure out who she was. I got there and told them my predicament, and there were a few nurses sitting behind the desk. I said how one of the nurses thought my nurse might have been Anna. So a nurse looked at me and said "I'm Anna." I asked her if it was her sister's birthday and she looked at me shocked and said yes, and asked how I knew that. LOL I told her what she had said while I was laboring. Anyhow, I was THRILLED she was there, and she was really excited and happy that we came back to see her. She said we made her day. I thanked her profusely for everything she did for me during labor and told her what a difference she had made and how grateful I was to her for her patience and nurturing care.
Here is the picture of T and Anna.
For Trever's actual birthday I just made a simple lemon cake with lemon frosting. I figured I would pipe some frosting around it just to make it look slightly decorated. LOL

This time T did NOT need to be coaxed to put his finger into the frosting. He went right for it.
 Yum Yum!

We put his Birthday Boy shirt back on him...
